Our hearts are so full. đź’›
Because of this incredible community, this year’s St. Jude Radiothon became the biggest one we’ve ever had. The love, generosity, and compassion we witnessed throughout the day is something we will never forget.
We are also excited to share that the unofficial total for this year’s Radiothon is $350,190.01! An incredible number that represents thousands of acts of kindness from people across our community.
We want to give a very special thank you to Mrs. Courington, owner of our radio stations, for allowing us to put regular programming on hold for an entire day so we could focus on something so important—helping the kids and families at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. We also remember Mr. Courington, who passed away earlier this year. His legacy and heart for this community and these stations continue to live on, and we know he would be proud to see the impact made today.
There are truly so many people who went above and beyond to make this Radiothon possible. Our sponsors, businesses who hosted donation locations, those who provided meals for our staff and volunteers, the firefighters who filled the boot, the volunteers who gave their time, and every person who stopped by, called, texted, shared a post, or simply encouraged others to give. It is impossible to personally thank every single person who played a part, but please know that we are deeply grateful for each and every one of you.
No matter how big or small your role may seem—every dollar donated, every prayer, every share, every act of kindness mattered. You helped give hope to children who are fighting the toughest battle of their lives.
This Radiothon was also especially meaningful as it was our first one without our dear friend and coworker, Rod Sisco, who passed away last year. Rod was a huge part of this event for many years, and his heart for St. Jude and the children it serves was something truly special. We felt his absence deeply this year, but we also felt his spirit in the love and generosity shown by this community. We know he would be incredibly proud of what was accomplished today.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for making this the biggest Radiothon we’ve ever had and for continuing to stand with us in the fight against childhood cancer.
This community is truly something special. đź’›
